Manager of Visitor Center Operations – Full Time
Old Salem Museums & Gardens
Old Salem Museums & Gardens is seeking a Manager of Visitor Center (VC) Operations. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the face-to-face customer service reception of Old Salem’s visitors, including ticket sales, group reception, orientation via maps, guidebooks, and oral historical information about Old Salem. This position is also responsible for preparing the VC staff work schedule monthly, and adhering to the departmental budget. Work hours are primarily Tuesday through Saturday. A successful applicant must have the ability to manage and relate effectively with subordinates, peers, more senior personnel and customers to effectively fulfill this role. This position requires a minimum of three years of experience in a face to face customer service environment required, with demonstrated problem solving skills. Previously managing customer service staff is the most critical experience qualification for the job. At least one year of employee supervisory experience is required. High school diploma is minimal education required, some college or an undergraduate degree desired. Salary begins at $25k+, commensurate with experience.
Call Center Representative
The Retail department is in search of a friendly, customer-focused staff member to help with call center operations. This position will confer with customers by telephone to provide information about products or services, take and enter orders, or obtain details of complaints. This position also works to resolve customers’ service or billing issues by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise or adjusting bills then follows up to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers’ issues.
This seasonal position works from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday and some Saturdays from October through December. Dress is business casual. This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills, in addition to basic math skills, problem solving skills. Position seekers should be task-orientated, self-motivated, and able to follow instructions. Experience working with Microsoft Windows systems and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
The Retail department is in search of a staff member to help with warehouse operations. This position will control product movement throughout the fulfillment cycle and ensures safe handling of product, integrity of inventory, and reliability of shipping outcomes. Responsibilities include receiving, material handling, storage, order picking, packing, shipping, and transferring to and from retail locations.
This seasonal position works from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday and some Saturdays from October through December. Successful applicants must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
