Grab your cameras (and camera phones) and submit your photos for the MyWinston-Salem.com Spring into Summer Photo Contest for a chance to win a Dewey’s Cake & Ice Cream Party! Here’s how it works.:

1) Snap a photo including a notable Winston-Salem/Forsyth County location/icon that depicts summertime.

2) “Like” our MyWinston-Salem.com Facebook page: www.facebook.com/MyWinstonSalem

3) Upload your photo to our Facebook page contest tab (limit one (1) new photo entry per day).

4) Ask your friends to vote for your photo by “Liking” your photo on our MyWinston-Salem.com Facebook contest page.

The photo on our Facebook page with the most votes/likes on May 31, 2013 at midnight wins a Dewey’s “Cake & Ice Cream Party” for 30 people, consisting of three quarts of and three dozen Dewey’s Bakery cake squares, for a total value of $60.

Background: MyWinston-Salem.com (“Sponsor”) sponsors the Spring into Summer Contest (the “Contest”). The “Contest” will be held beginning on May 10, 2013, at 12:01 PM EST and ending on May 31, 2013, at 11:59 PM EST.

Eligibility: Contest open only to legal U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older and who live within a 100 mile radius of Winston-Salem, NC.

To enter: “Like” MyWinston-Salem.com’s Facebook page and submit a qualifying photo. By submitting your photo and name/email address you will also be signed up for the MyWinston-Salem Weekend Roundup weekly newsletter email and have the option to opt out at anytime. Entries are limited to one (1) entry per person per day.

Photo guidelines: Photos should include a notable Winston-Salem/Forsyth County landmark, location or signature brand experience and visually illustrate a positive message about summer. Contestants” may enter as many photos as they wish. Please provide a brief comment you would like to have included with the photo when it is posted. Photos containing questionable or abusive content (e.g., nudity, alcohol, profanity, etc.) will not be posted or eligible for the Prize. Photos must be the original work of the contestant. Any content submitted must be absent of copyrights. Content containing Creative Commons may be used. By submitting a photo, participants agree to a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, irrevocable, royalty-free right of Fair Use for MyWinston-Salem to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, resize, crop, compress, and otherwise alter or make use of submitted work in order to facilitate voting by creating a uniform display of submissions. 

Winner selection: The photo with the most votes/”Likes” on our MyWinston-Salem Facebook page will be the winner.

Winner notification: Winner will be notified within one five one (1) week after the completion of the contest. In order to notify the winners, we must collect a minimum of your name and either an e-mail address or phone number. If valid contact information is not provided, an alternate will be selected. Once notified, the winner must respond within five (five) business days, or an alternate winner will be selected.

Selection and responsibility of winner: Winner will be selected from eligible “Contest” entries properly submitted and timely received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible photos and votes received during the “Contest” Period. In the event that a potential winner cannot be contacted after 3 attempts, is disqualified, or unable to accept the prize for any reason, “Sponsor” may, in its sole discretion, contact the first alternate winner, who will become the new potential winner. If the first alternate winner/new potential winner cannot be contacted after 3 attempts, is disqualified, or unable to accept the prize for any reason, “Sponsor” may, in its sole discretion, contact the second alternate winner, who will become the new potential winner. By accepting a prize, winner agrees to his/her name being announced on our websites and social media properties.

Winners: Potential winners may be required to provide photo ID/text message to redeem, or prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.
