What Is Instagram?
Instagram, a free social media photo-sharing network, allows users to take photos and easily apply their choice of digital filters to them. They can then share the photos with other Instagram users, as well as other social media networks, such as Facebook, and also via email. Breaking Records
Did you know that on Thanksgiving Day 2012, Instagram posts broke all records? With an average of 200 photo posts per second, people proudly shared their Memaw’s pumpkin pie and other Turkey Day festivities, posting over 10 million photos that mentioned Thanksgiving-related words in their captions. I’m a guilty Thanksgiving Day poster myself. Chances are, Christmas 2012 festivities will come close, if not surpass those records.

3.2 Instagram Update – December 2012
Just on Monday, December 10, 2012, Instagram released the latest update (and largest to date) to the application (3.2), including a number of new features, just in time for the holidays. The updated application now saves your Instagram photos in a separate album on the iOS camera roll (Apple iPhone), has a grid guide, optional borders, larger photos in notification feed, and a new filter “Willow” not to mention improvements to speed and performance. All of these updates just reinforced why you are going to love uploading your favorite Winston-Salem pics to Instagram via the #MyWS hashtag! Join in the fun today – the app is FREE to download!
