We will then randomly select a winner each Friday in November and December 2012. And the sooner you sign up for the newsletter and like us on Facebook, the more chances you will have at winning a prize. Every week we will reveal a new prize, so check back each Friday at noon to find out who the winner is and find out next week’s giveaway. We have some exciting things lined up for you.

Week One Prize: Noble’s Grille

Week Two Prize: a/perture Cinema

aperture cinemaOne of the many things we love about living in Winston-Salem is the arts. a/perture cinema is no exception. We’ve loved everything about this independent, locally-owned movie theater in the heart of downtown ever since it opened. Screening a mix of independent, foreign, documentary, local, and festival films in two 80-seat theaters, a/perture has evening screenings seven days a week with additional matinees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In addition to the traditional freshly-popped popcorn, candy and Coca-Cola beverages, a/perture also offers a wide selection of beer and wine, healthy snacks and special treats made by local bakeries. Plenty of parking is available in the surrounding downtown area, both on street and in the Cherry/Marshall Parking Deck adjacent to the cinema. a/perture brings back the intimate movie-going experience of yesteryear and serves as a modern, unique alternative to giant chain cineplexes. Week Three Prize: Dewey’s Bakery

Dewey's Bakery The holidays are synonymous with Dewey’s Bakery in Winston-Salem and Dewey’s has been a Triad-staple for generations. Since opening in 1930, Dewey’s has been baking traditional favorites such as Moravian Sugar Cake, Grandpa Coffee Cake, and Moravian Lovefeast Buns. Enjoy their time-honored original recipes everyday, made right here in the heart of Winston-Salem. Year-round bakeries are located in the Thruway Shopping Center and at Reynolda Manor but you can find their holiday pop-up shops open in November and December throughout North Carolina.  This week’s winner will receive a Chocolate Dipped Mint Cookie Gift Tin from Dewey’s.

Week Four Prize: Camel City Carriage Ride for Two

Their Belgian draft drawn carriages add a quaint historic feel to an evening, while offering the best way to view downtown Winston-Salem. Reservations are required and private rides are available. This week’s winner will receive a carriage ride for two from Camel City Carriage Co.

Week Five Prize: Salem Baking Company

Salem Baking Company Holiday GiftSalem Baking Company is the national brand that was developed by Dewey’s Bakery to sell Moravian cookies and cheese straws across the country. But, they are still made right here in Winston-Salem. Week Six Prize: Haute Chocolate

Week Seven Prize: Camino Bakery

camino break Started in 2008 by an untrained but passionate baker making treats for the crowds at Krankies, Camino Bakery expanded business and opened a bakery, café & winebar on 4th Street in 2011. Named after an ancient pilgrimage route in Europe, the Camino de Santiago the bakery is inspired by all things beautiful including food and drink. Serving everything from breakfast scones to fresh sandwiches for lunch to late night wine and beer, Camino is a great place for both business meetings and unwinding with friends. Located at 310-B West 4th St and open seven days a week. This week’s winner will win a $20 gift card to Camino Bakery. 

The Fine Print

Limit one entry per email address subscribed to the MyWinston-Salem Weekend Roundup newsletter. Winner must also “like” MyWinston-Salem on Facebook. Winner does not need to be a resident of Winston-Salem to win but must be able to pick up prizes at retail locations in Winston-Salem. Must be 18 years of age to enter and a resident of the United States. Employees and relatives of employees of Cover Story Media are excluded from winning. Total value of prizes are approximately $500.00. Winner will be contacted via email with details of how to arrange picking up their prize. All prizes will be awarded and must be redeemed in 2012. Kristi was born and raised just up the road in Mount Airy (a.k.a. Mayberry) and frequented Winston-Salem often growing up for school field trips, shopping, and dining.
