Sushi has been hit or miss in Winston-Salem over the years. There was an epic spot called Tomo’e on Peter’s Creek parkway that had delicious fresh sushi and weekly lunch specials, but alas, it closed many years ago. There are a couple dedicated sushi restaurants as well as Japanese restaurants that offer sushi on the menu. We’ll let you try them out and would welcome your feedback as to which ones you liked (and which ones you didn’t)!

While there’s plenty of street-style Chinese food (think of the restaurants typically found in strip malls) Winston-Salem lacks high-end Chinese dining. That being said, there’s some hidden gems that deliver some really tasty dishes. And if you’re into P.F. Chang’s, we’ve got one of those too.

Best Thai Restaurants In Winston-Salem

Personally, I am a huge Thai food fan. Ever since my backpacking trip through the country in 2001 I’ve been hooked on their tasty cuisine, with a particular propensity for curries. When I first moved to Winston in 2004 I immediately went on the search for good Thai food. The best (and most affordable at the time) was Downtown Thai. I’m not saying it’s not the best anymore (it’s definitely not the most affordable anymore), but you’ve got a lot more options now.

Imagine how awesome it would be if you could have food delivered to the doorstep of your Winston-Salem home, even from restaurants that don’t officially offer a delivery service. We’re happy to announce that your wait is over, thanks to services such as Takeout Central, a local NC company that has expanded to several North Carolina cities including WS. The site lets you choose from a number of local restaurants, and hires local drivers to order, pick up, and deliver your food (minimum order of $10) for a low delivery fee of $2.99-$3.49 per restaurant (plus tax and tip; the cost may be slightly higher for restaurants that are far away)…
