Kids’ Summer Movies: 2019 Schedule

It’s summer! And although that means more time outdoors and at the pool, the Kids’ Summer Movies schedule for 2019 at local cinemas is great for rainy days and when you just need an affordable break from the heat. Find below a listing of participating Winston-Salem cinemas with prices, showtimes and movies playing.

  • July 16 & 17 – How To Train Your Dragon

  • July 30 & 31 – The Secret Life Of Pets
  • August 6 & 7 – Hotel Transylvania 3
  • August 13 & 14 – Lego Movie
  • August 20 & 21 – Small Foot

Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks Department

This is a new program that rotates to various area parks throughout the summer, with one showing each month. All movies are free. Just bring your chair or blanket before dark and settle in for some family-friendly movie fun. The films start at dusk and pre-movie activities begin at 7:30pm. There will also be food trucks on-site, in case you get hungry.

  • June 15 – Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse (at Ray Agnew Football Field, 2801 New Walkertown Rd)
  • July 20 – The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (at Oak Summit Park, 370 Oak Summit Rd)
  • August 17 – Ralph Breaks The Internet (at Parkland Park, 1660 Brewer Rd)

Bailey Park (not for small children)

Not every one of these films is for kids, so be sure to check before you make plans to attend. This is also a free outdoor event, so bring your blankets and chairs. You will also want to bring a little cash since there will be food trucks, beer & wine sales as well as trivia before the film. Movies start at 8:30 in the summer and 7:30 in the fall.

  • August 16 – Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (PG-13)
  • September 13 – Remember The Titans (PG)
