Another Broken Egg
Another Broken Egg located in Thruway Center features breakfast, lunch, and “the best brunch in Winston-Salem.” They also offer handcrafted cocktails, spiked cold brews, mimosas, and a full bar. Enjoy upscale, chef-inspired dishes and seasonal specials, or order from the vegetarian or gluten-friendly menu.

Bamboo Garden Asian Buffet
A new Chinese restaurant, Bamboo Garden Asian Buffet (formerly Panda Buffet), opened off Hanes Mill Road and there have been some great reviews. They feature hibachi, seafood, and sushi. The restaurant has a wide selection of dishes. Some reviewers mentioned that the sushi was very good, and many complimented the cleanliness and service. It is an all you can eat buffet and a wonderful way to try many different types of Asian food. They have lunch and dinner prices, and higher Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and holiday prices. There are lower prices for children.

Basil Hibachi
Basil Hibachi is a new restaurant located on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem. They offer classic hibachi-style food, including chicken, shrimp, pork, steak, salmon, scallops, and filet mignon or combinations of those, served with mixed vegetables, rice or noodles, and a choice of hibachi, teriyaki, or spicy teriyaki. Casa Blanca
Casa Blanca Is a newly opened restaurant featuring Mexican cuisine on the north side of Winston-Salem in Summit Square near Sam’s Club. The restaurant has a warm and casual atmosphere and delicious food. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and efficient. They are open for lunch and dinner and serve authentic Mexican classics like Street Tacos, Burritos, Chile Rellenos, Fajitas, Seafood, Steak, Tamales, Chalupas, and Enchiladas. They have Lunch Specials for $8 between 11am – 2:30pm.

City Barbecue
City Barbecue, located on Jonestown Road, “is where the smoke is.” Their beef brisket has been know to be smoked for up to 18 hours, making it tender and juicy. They also serve pulled pork, bone-in chicken, smoked sausage, turkey breast, St Louis cut ribs, and homemade sides. Dine in or carry out.

Grandpa Joe’s Slaberia – NOW OPEN
A new pizza concept from Bobby Boy’s Bakeshop, Grandpa Joe’s Slaberia, a pizzeria with ample seating and a mezzanine level. The pizzeria is one of three restaurants at Salem Bottleworks and features fluffy, light slabs of focaccia with sauce and fresh toppings, chilled seafood salad, beers and negronis on tap, and soft serve ice cream.

Kalamaki Authentic Greek Street Food
Kalamaki is a new Greek Food restaurant dressed in fresh, bright blue and white colors, with scents and tastes that make you feel like you are in Greece. The food is fresh and authentic, made with locally sourced produce and traditional Greek recipes. They feature slow-cooked gyros on a spit and kalamaki (skewers) prepared in-house, as well as Mousaka, Greek street corn, Spanakopita, Greek Salad, and, of course, Loukoumades with glazes and toppings.

Konnichiwa of Winston-Salem
Konnichiwa, a new Japanese restaurant on E Hanes Mill Road, has received great reviews, especially for its Sushi. It has a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere, though it is a shopping center restaurant, a nice place to dine in. They feature a large variety of sushi rolls, all described as fresh and tasty. They offer hibachi, bento boxes, and appetizers that have been well-liked. The service has consistently been described as warm, friendly, and fast.

Little Ari’s Japanese Kitchen
Little Ari’s promises, “Awesome hibachi with just a short wait.” From the owners of Arigato Japanese Steak and Seafood House, Little Ari’s has many of the same dishes in a casual atmosphere. It is counter-service even for dine-in, but reviews say the food and portions are good, and the prices are fair.

Miam Breakfast House
Miam means “Yum” in French, and this new restaurant lives up to its name. Open daily for breakfast and brunch, using only fresh ingredients. They serve egg dishes, omelets, pancakes, benedicts, specialty breakfasts, and healthy choices. They also have soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and light meals. It’s the place to go to start your day off right.

Mike’s Vegan Grill

Miller’s On Robinhood
Miller’s opened a new restaurant on Robinhood Road. They already have an establishment, Millers on Trade. Both locations offer custom cocktails and simple food menus with wings and hamburgers. Like its sister sports bar, Miller’s on Robinhood has arcade games, electronic darts, and billiard tables. They also feature duck pin bowling lanes. It’s a great spot if you are looking for some drinks, a quick bite, and some fun.

A new addition downtown, this coffee bar breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant is getting great reviews. They feature a comfortable, welcoming place to enjoy espresso drinks, drip, iced coffee, soft drinks, tea, and hot chocolate. Breakfast sandwiches are served, bagels and sweet treats, delicious sandwiches, sausage rolls, and soup are available for lunch. Don’t miss Hot Dog Fridays, 1 for $4, 2 for $6, includes chips. Park Deli
Park Deli has opened on the ground floor of Biotech Plaza in Innovation Quarter, where Diamondback Downtown was. Park Deli features a wide variety of sandwiches, main dish salads, sides, and grab-to-go items. Service is quick, and the food is fresh and delicious.

Que Viva! Latin Street Grill
Que Viva! took their food truck to a brick-and-mortar building on Jonestown Road, where Tre Nonne was once located. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is good, and the food is delicious! My only complaint is that I would like a printed menu, not just the one on the wall. I want to return and try the Chiccharon and avocado in an arepa!

Shinjuku Station
Coming to Winston-Salem in early 2026, a fun dining experience serving a menu of bold, fast, flavorful Tokyo street food. An all-you-can-eat restaurant, pay one price, with a revolving sushi bar, serving robots, and miniature bullet trains that deliver the food to your table. You will find sushi rolls, yakitori skewers, onigiri snacks, hibachi, Japanese drinks, and more. The first Shinjuku Station in the country is open at the Palladium Shopping Center, 5826 Samet Dr, High Point, and the second is coming here. We will keep this post updated.

Sushi Rosé is a new restaurant in the Innovation Quarter. Serving Japanese-Peruvian fusion, known as Nikkei cuisine, it will be a unique addition to Winston-Salem. The Dutch Pot – with Pizza Express

The Gaslight On Main
The Gaslight on Main in Kernersville had its soft opening in June and will be closing for a summer break from June 30 through July 8. They will reopen on July 9 and have their Grand Opening in July. Located in the historic downtown, they serve modern American cuisine rooted in classic technique, seasonal ingredients, and elevated hospitality. The beautifully designed space is warm and welcoming, and the menu features dishes such as Chicken in Roasted Dashi Velouté with ricotta dumplings, Grilled Tomahawk Pork Chop, and Lobster Ravioli.

The Old Salem Tavern Restaurant
The Old Salem Tavern Restaurant plans to reopen later this year. The building owned by Old Salem Inc. was sold to RSS Properties, Inc., which has begun renovations. They will be renovating the kitchen, the outdoor dining area, and the restaurant parking area. We will keep you updated about the tavern’s progress and reopening. There is still no date set for opening.
Toasted
Toasted is a unique establishment that is a coffee shop, bar, and restaurant. Located in the heart of the city, Toasted offers a comfortable and charming retreat. It is the perfect place for a morning coffee, a hearty lunch with signature sandwiches, baked potatoes, or soup, and a handcrafted cocktail from its full bar in the evening.

Xia’s Asian Tapas
Xia’s Asian Tapas, owned by the same people who own What Da Pho, is an Asian Fusion restaurant that features Bahn Mi, dumplings, garlic noodles, egg rolls, and more. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are excellent, according to reviews. Hoisin sauce is on the tables, along with the standard soy and sriracha sauces. There is outdoor seating for the nicer weather coming.
