Restaurants with outdoor seating – patios, decks, or sidewalks – are plentiful here in Winston Salem and a refreshing way to eat out. Dining in the fresh air and open space is a delightful experience. Many outdoor seating places are covered, to be enjoyed rain or shine, and some are heated for dining in cooler weather. 6th And Vine

Gardens and downtown buildings surround 6th and Vine’s large, pleasant patio. It is lit with decorative lights, and the tables have umbrellas. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy a small plate, salad, entree, and half-price wine on Wednesdays. They also host wine dinners and wine tastings. See their Facebook page. Rooster’s: A Noble Grille

Rooster’s has an uncovered patio with tables with umbrellas. It has decorative lighting and a pleasant atmosphere. In the warmer months, they host live music on the patio on Tuesdays at 6pm. Rooster’s is an American restaurant serving food from quality ingredients purchased from local farms and distributors. They feature vegetarian and gluten-free options and offer a Sunday Brunch. This is a family-friendly restaurant.

Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden

Barcelona Burger is located in Innovation Quarter with a large uncovered patio overlooking Bailey Park. The menu features burgers, chicken dishes, hot dogs, salads, homemade sides, and desserts. They also have 24 taps serving craft beer and wine available. They can make any of their delicious burgers on a gluten-free bun and have a black bean and quinoa veggie burger, too. Enjoy a cold beer, a burger with various toppings, and the view from inside with Barcelona Burger’s large windows or outside on their comfortable patio. Its is a family-friendly restaurant.

Camel City BBQ Factory

Camel City BBQ Factory is a great place to eat, drink, and have fun. Their patio is two-tiered, open air, with tables with umbrellas and string lights. The food is delicious and filling, and it is reasonably priced. Upstairs, you will find a fun game room with many different types of entertainment. Great for families.

East Of Texas

East of Texas has a vast outdoor space, partially covered and lit with decorative lights. It’s a great place to enjoy “The Best Tex-Mex BBQ in the Triad.” East of Texas has drink specials and live music and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a Sunday brunch. It is a family-friendly, dog-friendly restaurant.

Mozelle’s outdoor seating is always in high demand, and seating is first-come, first-served. The patio has fans for hotter weather and heaters and blankets for colder weather. They serve lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. They offer gluten-friendly and vegetarian choices.

River Birch Lodge

River Birch Lodge features “Mountain Casual Dining in the heart of Winston-Salem.” Their cozy inside space has a beautiful fireplace and rustic design. The Old Fourth Street Filling Station

Fourth Street Filling Station is a cozy place to eat, both indoors and outdoors. It has a large, half-covered, enclosed brick patio with string lights, large trees, and heaters in the colder months. Reviews say it is the best outdoor dining place in the city. They also have excellent food, good service, and reasonable prices. They serve brunch on Sunday.

The Porch

The Porch features a large outdoor patio under a roof and tarps, with string lighting. It is cozy and pleasant. The Porch is tucked away in the West End Millworks area. They feature delicious margaritas, tacos, quesadillas, salads, burgers, and more. The Porch offers monthly and weekly specials. It’s a great place to gather with friends and it is family-friendly. Brunch is served on Sunday.

The Quiet Pint

The Quiet Pint is a great place to socialize and eat. The outdoor seating is on a large patio with string lights and heaters in the colder months. There is picnic table seating in the open air and smaller tables on an enclosed porch. The Quiet Pint has terrific food and weekly specials. It is a fun, somewhat noisy place that is quite enjoyable. They have live music outside, and their patio is pet-friendly. They serve lunch, dinner, and brunch.

Village Tavern

Both locations of the Village Tavern feature a pleasant and calming patio with fantastic outdoor seating surrounded by large trees and heated in the colder months. The food at the Village Tavern is very good. The menu offers starters, salad, soup, steak, seafood, and more. There is something for everyone at reasonable prices. These restaurants are family-friendly.
