There are many wonderful restaurants in Winston-Salem, though not so many serve brunch! Here is a list of favorites, some of which offer Saturday and Sunday brunch, and some of which serve extras like Bloody Marys and mimosas! We also point out which restaurants are open for brunch on Mother’s Day. Let Mom sleep in this Mother’s Day and don’t let her cook a thing! (I hope my family is reading this.)

This fine dining restaurant offers a Mothers Day Brunch buffet from 10:30am – 2:00pm. Reservations required.

Saturday and Sunday brunch 11am – 3pm. Reservations are recommended.

In the heart of the Arts District of Downtown Winston-Salem, this favorite night spot also offers Saturday and Sunday brunch for the morning after, serving up the likes of shrimp & grits; crab cake benedict; portabello, prosciutto and goat cheese omelet. Finnigan’s Wake – Pub & Irish Kitchen

Saturday “Hangover Brunch” at 11AM; Sunday brunch 10am-3pm.

In the heart of the Arts District in Downtown Winston-Salem, Finnegan’s Wake offers Saturday and Sunday brunch (though their Saturday brunch menu is not as extensive as their Sunday brunch menu). They serve authentic traditional Irish favorites, including “boxty” (a thin potato pancake folded over your favorite sweet or savory ingredients), imported Irish bangers (sausage), Scotch eggs, Irish oatmeal, and the Full Monty omelet with bangers, rashers, corned beef and cheddar cheese served with hashed potatoes and a toastie. Organic eggs are available upon request for $1 surcharge and outdoor seating is available.

Hutch & Harris

Located on Fourth Street, this restaurant has an interesting menu of American and seafood fare and is an undiscovered gem for brunch as you can normally get in without a reservation! But, we wouldn’t recommend you test this theory on Mother’s Day. Full bar and special brunch drinks, including $4 mimosas and Bloody Marys! Limited outdoor seating available.

Jeffrey Adams on 4th

Also located on Fourth Street, Jeffrey Adams offers Sunday Brunch menu and $5 Bloody Mary’s. Opens at 11am.

The Katharine At The Kimpton Cardinal

This elegant restaurant found in the Kimpton Cardinal hotel in the historic RJ Reynolds building downtown blends traditional French brasserie fare with southern cooking. The Katharine is offering a Mothers Day Buffet from 8am-2pm for $40 per adult/$15 for children ages 4 – 12. Children under 6 eat free. A make-your-own bellini bar and champagne specials. Live jazz from 10am – 2pm, a complimentary flower for each mom, a raffle for prizes including a spa package. Reservations required.

Another “breakfast all day” restaurant, this family-friendly brunch spot near Thruway Shopping Center often has a wait. Midtown Café serves up classics: banana crunch pancakes, sweet potato pancakes, Belgian waffles, crepes and French toast along with great sandwiches and soups. Vast outdoor seating available in warmer months. (Sorry, no Bloody Marys or mimosas.) View their brunch menu.

Specials for Mother’s Day include pineapple upside down pancakes and a shrimp asparagus omelet.

This downtown gem serves up brunch with a Southern flair. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but we especially love the tomato pie. Mozelle’s is a local favorite offering such delights as Mozelle’s Benedict with candied bacon, collards and chorizo gravy on a brioche bun with cheese grits or a grilled pimento cheese and bacon sandwich on sourdough with a cup of tomato bisque. A sister restaurant of Midtown Café and Dessertery, River Birch Lodge restaurant offers Saturday and Sunday brunch with an atmosphere of “mountain casual dining” and a lovely patio.
