While Lexington is the self-professed “barbecue capital of the world,” Winston-Salem has a good selection of great BBQ places. East of Texas sounds like the place for good food and good fun. They claim to serve the Sloppiest Joe in Winston Salem, and their brisket sliders look great. They have music and other events during the week, so check out their Facebook page for info and their menu.

Hawgfish Shack BBQ and Seafood
Hawgfish features brisket, ribs, pulled pork and seafood options all at a great price for a large portion. The BBQ is delicious, the ribs, fall-off-the-bone perfect and the brisket plate is almost enough for two! The decor is coastal cute and the atmosphere comfortable. Great wait staff and service. To make everything even better, complimentary hush puppies brought out before the meal!

Little Richard’s Bar-N-Que
Little Richard’s Bar-N-Que offers brisket, burnt ends, chopped BBQ Plate, and smoked sausage reviewers says is delicious. The wings get high marks as well. Spacious place with lots of seating and a full bar. Good service and friendly atmosphere. Little Richard’s also has locations in Clemmons and Walkertown.
