When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn a commission. Here’s how it works.

Winston-Salem City Link centralizes access to all city services and information via one easy phone number: “311”. By dialing 311 or 336-727-8000, residents can speak to a live city agent who will answer questions, provide information, and dispatch service requests for any work needed. The City Link service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

New Text Option

Now, a new, easy way to reach Winston-Salem’s City Link exists. Text 855-481-Link. The text option is a convenient way to contact the city with questions about such things as missed garbage or recycling collections, damaged or stolen garbage or recycling carts, and dead animals to be collected. The text option is another way Winston-Salem makes it easy for residents to get help.

The city of Winston-Salem also has a free City Link 311 app. This app for smartphones and tablets allows residents to make a suggestion, request service, or report a problem at the convenient click of a button. With the mobile app, residents can easily report an issue from anywhere.

The App Automatically Tracks Problem Location

When submitting an issue, you need not speak directly with an agent unless you would like to. The City Link 311 app automatically reports your location. You can add a photo to your request showing the issue, whether it is to request water service, a pothole, a leaky fire hydrant, a damaged sign, or other problems.

Follow The Issue To Resolution

For added convenience, you can track your submission to Winston-Salem City Link all the way from request to resolution using the app. This way, you will know when and if it has been handled.

Or reach a City Link agent via the app 24 hours a day, seven days a week without having to look up the telephone number.

The City Link app is free and available for iOS and Android. Download the app through the iTunes App Store or Google Play — just search for “CityLink 311.” Or simply click here to find a download.

I am originally from New Jersey but now call Winston-Salem home. I am blessed with 3 sons, their wives, and five grandchildren. My husband is deceased, but I gained his two sons, their wives, and four additional grandchildren. I fell in love with Winston-Salem because of the beautiful area, the arts, the music, and the people. It's a city with a heart and soul.
