Finding someone to care for your fur baby when you are working or going away can be very difficult. Having family members who can help is great, but what if you don’t? You must find someone you can trust with your pet and home. We have searched for reputable sitters and have compiled a list for you to consider. Some have training; others have experience. Take a look below.

3 Pooches Pet Sitting & Dog Walking

3 Pooches is currently fully booked for dog walking services but is taking pet-sitting clients. They offer up to 4 daily visits at least 30 minutes long. They may include walks and playtime, feeding and fresh water, administering medication or injections, cleaning litter boxes, picking up mail, watering plants, and alternating lights. Visits for 20 minutes are available for cats and other small animals. 3 Pooches is insured and bonded, and walkers and sitters are background-checked and trained. Barker & Katz Professional Pet Services

Barker & Katz cares for your pets and gives you invaluable peace of mind. They offer pet sitting and dog walking. They do not have overnight pet sitting. Services include The Silas, a quick visit for a potty break and pet care; The Hamlet when you are away for a full day or longer; they recommend these three visits a day; and Small Critter Care, at least one visit a day to care for your small pets. Pet Walking features a private walk for your dog. All services include pet care, including feeding, refilling water, potty tie, playtime, treats, yard cleaning, and litter box maintenance. Sitters are bonded and insured, and pet first aid and CPR certified.

Beth’s Comfy Critters Pet Sitters

Beth’s Comfy Critters provides many services, including the Pit-Stop Visit, just a quick visit to let dogs out in a fenced yard or scoop the litter; Mid-Day Visit Walk, includes a walk, freshen food and water, playtime, and administering medications, it’s great if your pet needs a midday break or if you are going to be coming home late from work; In-Home Pet Sitting, minimum an hour, includes walking, playtime, refreshing water and food, and treats; Overnight Care, stay in your home and care for your pets from 6pm – 8am; Hotel/Motel Dog Walk for those visiting Winston-Salem, a short walk to stretch their legs and provide relief, and Pet Taxi Service, to take your pet to its grooming appointment and bring it back home. The sitters also provide additional services such as watering plants, rotating house lights, mail, and newspaper pick up, and placing trash and recyclables by the road. They offer an Introductory Play Visit free to learn about your pet and have your pet be comfortable with them. Care is provided for dogs, cats, small animals (ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc), Birds, reptiles, and fish.

Brianna’s Pet Sitting (Not Accepting New Clients Right Now)

Brianna’s has been in business for eight years and offers services that include dog walking during the work week and overnight care while you are away. Services include playtime and feeding, administering medicine, providing treats to help with training, litter box cleaning, and text message updates. The staff is trained and background checked. Though they are not accepting new clients as of February 2024, that may change. Contact them through their website to check for openings.

Canine Kisses

In business for 13 years, Canine Kisses is known for being reliable and trustworthy, following detailed instructions, and providing daily updates to pet parents. They offer services including pet sitting and dog walking for 30 minutes with additional minutes available and overnight pet sitting, approximately 10pm – 7am, including letting dogs out at night and in the morning (dog walks are extra). Additional services include bringing in mail and paper, watering plants, turning on and off lights, opening and closing blinds, and garbage and recycling out and returning. Canine Kisses is bonded and insured and is a Pet Sitters International member. Initial consultations are free.

Dogs On The Run offers a pet care concierge service that matches your pet care needs with a professional dog care provider. The services they provide are Dog Walk & Running, 30, 45, and 60-minute options can be arranged; Doggie Day Care, your pet will spend time and be cared for at the provider’s home, and you will be kept updated with details and pictures all day; Vacation and Travel Care, allows you to determine the days and times that you would like care in your home, from daily visits to overnight care; Pet Taxi, transports your pet to appointments and back so they arrive safely; Doggie Field Trips provides 2-3 hour private or group field trips for your dog; VIP Boarding allows you to board your pet in the comfort of a providers home; Pet Training features professional dog trainers that offer private or group training, including Walk and Train sessions. The company also offers pet groomers who come to your home, holistic care providers, and event pet handlers should you want your pet to be at a special event. Each professional provider is background-checked and has liability insurance, references, and a business license.

Fur Keepers Pet Services & Training

Fur Keepers assures that your pet and home will be well cared for. They offer pet sitting; standard service for dogs is a 20-minute visit, and for cats, a 15-minute visit. Their daily and overnight fees are for 12 -24 hours. The visits include potty breaks, feeding, fresh water, changing litter, watering plants, opening and closing blinds, and other services. Ask about them caring for other animals. They are bonded and insured, leaving notes that let you know your pet is doing well. Pet Training is also available: Board and Train, Doggy Day Trains, Pet Sitting Train Service, and In-Home Private Dog Training.

Laughing Dog Walks n’ Sits

Laughing Dog Walks n’ Sits offers various services, including dog walking, pet sitting, and cat sitting. You can order a 15-minute- or 30-minute walk; both include providing fresh water and love and attention. Pet sitting service prices include up to 2 pets and can be 15-minute or 30-minute sessions. You can schedule up to 4 visits a day (indoor dogs without a pet door require a minimum of three visits a day; dogs with a pet door require two visits a day; cats and all other pets require one visit daily). Pet visits include potty breaks, meals, medications, litter box maintenance, and exercise. 15- and 30-minute cat visits, which include refreshing food and water and scooping the litter box, are also available. They do not provide overnight pet-sitting. They provide complimentary services like bringing in the mail, water plants, and trash and recycling at the curb. Laughing Dog Walks n’ Sits also offers weekly poop-scooping services as an add-on service for their clients. Service providers have first aid training, and the company is bonded and insured. Robinhood Dog Walking

Robinhood Dog Walking & Pet Sitters has won the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Three Best Rated Dog Walking Awards in Winston-Salem. The services they offer are Short Walks, 20 Minutes; Exercise Walk, 30 minutes; Super Walk, 45 minutes; and Marathon Walk, 60 minutes. The walks include visit report cards, pictures, food, clean water, and medication. The time can be used for whatever you want, including walks, backyard, playtime, snuggles, etc. The fee includes up to 2 dogs, an additional charge for more. Cat Care consists of the same services as dog care plus litter box cleaning. You can schedule a 5-10 minute, 20-minute, or 30-minute visit for your cat, and it includes up to 2 cats, with an additional charge for more. Dog and Cat Care visits for 20-60 minutes are available and include the same services as the other dog walking and cat care. The initial meet and greet is free. All clients must have a lockbox with keys to the home, or door codes, garage codes, etc.

Sweet Beast Pet Care

Sweet Beast Pet Care has 20 years of experience providing world-class pet care. They offer daily dog walking, 25 or 45-minute visits between 11am – 3pm. The dog walking, a 30 or 45-minute visit, includes a walk and play, feeding if required, water refill, and securing and double-checking locks. Overnight Stays begin between 7:30pm and 9pm, and the sitter will remain there until 7am. They include walking or letting the dog out, feeding according to instructions, scooping or changing cat litter, cuddling time with pets, mail, newspaper, package pick up, light and blind rotation, frequent check-ins and photos, and more. Dog Training is offered and features leash manners, impulse control, greeting people, coming when called, and more. A series of 3, 5, or 7 lessons are available. Sweet Beast is bonded and insured. A free meet and greet at your home is provided.

Walkin’-n-Waggin’ Dog Walking & Pet Sitting

Walkin’-n-Waggin’ offers a variety of services, including pet sitting and walking for a short 15-minute break to an hour, overnight pet sitting, exotic pet sitting, house sitting (up to 20 minutes), pet taxi, and leash/obedience training. Standard fees are listed for each service but do not include incidentals such as out-of-area surcharges, administering medications, and key pick-up or delivery. They currently serve the western Winston-Salem area, but you can contact them concerning coverage for your location. They offer a free initial consultation and key pick up, and their service hours are 6am – 12am. Walkin’-n-Waggin’ has won awards for Best-Rated Dog Walkers in Winston-Salem, has American Red Cross Pet First aid training, and is a member of various dog-walking and pet-sitting organizations.

West End Collars

West End Collars provides customizable pet services, including dog walking, pet drop-in visits, pet sitting, and house sitting. Their dog walking service can be anywhere from 12 minutes to an hour, including a GPS walk view, replenishing food and water, and cleaning up accidents. Their Pet Drop-In pricing offers 10- or 20-minute cat visits (two cats) and 20-minute to one-hour pet drop-in visits, including a potty break, snuggles, playtime, replenishing food and water, and cleaning up accidents. They also offer house sitting and mail check service (not including pet care), overnight pet care (9pm – 7am ), hourly pet sitting, litter box turnover service, and administering medication. Additional pets included in services are a $3 extra charge. And while you are away, they can even care for your plants and adjust your blinds. Service providers are first aid and CPR trained and 100% bonded and insured.

Winston Whiskers, established in 2014, provides reliable, convenient service whether you work long hours or need to be away for business or pleasure.
